one of my friend needs clarification with the below issue: please help.
she was on f1 till last year and then converted to h1b...she got a new i-94 along with her h1b approval...which started on oct 1st 2007...
now, she will be leaving for h1b stamping soon..........
so,while departing, which i-94 should she has to surrender? whether is it the one in the passport or the one that came with the h1b approval or both...
can any one please explain me about the h1b stamping process... what are the things to know..
i am looking for information starting from leaving US, what happens at the consulante, and then entering US...the kind of information that am more looking into is on i-94... once the stamping is done at the consulate, do we get a new i-94 right at the consulate, or will we get it only at the port of entry? also, which consulate in canada, do you recommend, that has less hassles... please explain

Always while departing US, a H1-B person needs to surrender the I-94 card that's stapled in their passport. This is a record of arrival/departure. Upon arrival she'll get a new card added to her passport, ofcourse she should get it from the airhostess and fill it before entering the POE. Hope this helps.
